Jessie Dick accepts promotion to lead the station

Jessie Dick

The Board of Directors of WXPR public radio has announced that Jessie Dick has been chosen to lead the station.

Dick began work at the radio station in 2003 and most recently has been marketing director and volunteer coordinator.
“We feel that Jessie’s 14 years of experience and dedication to WXPR make her the ideal candidate for the role of station manager,” said Board Chair, Jeff Burke. “She has accepted this promotion with the full support of the board and staff.”
“This isn’t a responsibility I’m taking lightly,” she said. “We are celebrating WXPR’s 35th year later this month and I’ve never been more aware of how important keeping WXPR strong is for our community. With the support of staff, volunteers and listeners I’m looking forward to building on our current successes, while keeping WXPR relevant, informative and entertaining.”
A resident of Tomahawk where she resides with her husband and two children, Dick has also been involved with local community organizations like Partners in Education (PIE), Rhinelander Women’s Club, and ArtStart Rhinelander.
WXPR is an independent, local public radio station founded in 1983. The studio is located at 28 N Stevens Street, Rhinelander and serves Northern Wisconsin, portions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the greater Wausau area. For information about the station, its programs, local news and features, visit wxpr.org. WXPR is heard at 91.7 FM, 100.9 FM near Ironwood-Hurley, and 91.9 FM in central Wisconsin and online at www.wxpr.org
