Spring cleaning? Donate ‘Minutes that Matter’
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Are cell phones junking up your junk drawer? When spring cleaning this year, consider donating your unused phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a national non-profit organization that provides troops and veterans with free communication services and emergency funding.
One of those programs is Minutes that Matter. The organization collects and recycles all makes of newer or gently-used mobile devices, including phones and tablets, and “recycles” the profits into free calling cards for soldiers.
A local business is a collection point for donated phones. AmeriGas, located at 112 S. Park St. in Rhinelander, has boxes available for anyone wishing to put their unused phones to good use.
For more information on Minutes that Matter, visit www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com. To contact AmeriGas, call 715-365-7700.
Since 2004, the organization has provided more than 300 million minutes of free talk time for active-duty soldiers.
