Rhinelander Area Food Pantry annual ‘Spring Challenge’
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is challenging local residents to contribute to the annual RAFP Spring Challenge. Previously known as the Feinstein Challenge, the past few years a new individual, who wishes to remain anonymous, has stepped forward to make a partial match for all donations or pledges received from March 1 to April 30.
RAFP executive director Guy Hansen said he is excited to announce this year’s event and said he anticipates the new “match” will once again more than double any previous Feinstein match.
Donations may include cash, checks and food items (valued at $1.00 per item or pound) or pledges, as long as they are obtained during this two month period.
Monetary donations can be made to Rhinelander Area Food Pantry c/o BMO Harris Bank, 7 N. Brown St., Rhinelander.
Food items may be dropped off at the food pantry at 627 Coon Street from 9 am to noon, Monday through Friday. Food items used for voting in the 2017
CANtastic event March 3 – 17 at the Rouman Cinema will also count towards this challenge. Many people and organizations plan their annual donations or fundraising events during this period to take advantage of the extra value to the Food Pantry as a result of the match.
Northwoods Auto Techs will once again donate $2 for every invoice written during March and April as well as conduct a food drive for employees and customers.
