BOYS BASKETBALL: Hodags tame Polar Bears in 2nd half

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity boys basketball team overcame a two-point halftime deficit Saturday to win in non-conference action at Hortonville, 75-67.

The Hodags were led by Owen White, who recorded a double-double with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Howard added 21 points, which included four 3-pointers.

RHS shot 23-55 (41.8 percent) from the field overall, 8-27 (29.6 percent) from 3-point range and 21-27 from the free-throw line.

The Hodags’ season record stands at 9-0 in the Great Northern Conference and 17-2 overall going into Tuesday’s home conference game against Medford. A win against the Raiders would ensure RHS of a first-place finish in the GNC.
