Obituary: Joyce Daniels Scheeler

Dexter and Joyce Scheeler
Joyce Daniels Scheeler, age 82, of Jasper, Fla., passed away Feb. 3, 2018, at Haven Hospice following a brief illness.
Joyce was born Oct. 30, 1935, in Live Oak, Fla. to the late Roy and Lonnie Mae Byrd Daniels. She graduated from Suwannee County High School and it was not long before she and her husband Dexter were traveling the world, courtesy of the United States Air Force. Some people resent the relocations that come with military life, but Joyce and Dexter looked at it as another opportunity to introduce their children to the many differences in cultures and lifestyles the world had to offer. Joyce also enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking but more than anything she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, David (Rhonda) Scheeler of Alton, Ill., and Bill (CeeCee) Scheeler of Jasper, Fla.; three daughters, Linda Summers of Tallahassee, Fla., Barb Scheeler of Rhinelander, and Kate (Mark) Childress of Washington, DC; one brother, Jonathan Daniels and one sister, Iris Blackwell; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter; her daughter, Diane Scheeler-Ross; son-in-law, Danny Summers; her brother, Dickie Daniels, and a sister, Edna Daniels.
Graveside services were held Feb. 5, 2018 at Hebron Cemetery near Jasper, Fla.
