RHS enters playoffs 15-9 overall

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School boys hockey team ended the regular season on the losing note Friday when the Hodags gave up three third-period goals and fell at home to Mosinee, 4-3.

RHS recorded first-period goals from Freddy Wisner and Bridger Flory. The team’s 2-1 lead after 17 minutes held up until the third period.

The Indians took a two-goal lead in the third period before Wisner scored again to leave the Hodags a goal short.

RHS, which closed out the regular season 15-9 overall and 7-6 in the Great Northern Conference, will host Mosinee to open WIAA tournament play Tuesday night at the Rhinelander Ice Arena. The winner plays Thursday against Northland Pines in Eagle River.
