Calvary to host trivia contest
The community is invited to the third annual Trivia Night at Calvary Baptist Church, at 320 Lincoln St., Rhinelander Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Those participating need to come as a team of up to six people and be ready to test their knowledge of general trivia, not all Bible trivia. The team entry fee is $25; there will be cash prizes for the top three teams. Registration will take place that night. All proceeds from the event will benefit the New Dawn Pregnancy Center. For more information, call 715-362-4792 or go to www.ExploreCalvary.com.

CANtastic event seeking teams
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and the Rouman Cinema are once again sponsoring the CANtastic event. This year’s theme is “Toon” in to Hunger. The competition, in its eighth year, combines the spirit of a design and build contest with a unique way to help feed the hungry in the community. Team design and build a sculpture based on the theme with donated or purchased food which will then be donated to the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry. There are several judging criteria and prizes. The build day is March 3 at Rouman Cinema. For more information, call Guy, 715-282-5810 or Bill, 715-360-0400, or visit www.rhinelanderareafoodpantry.org.

Winter Escapes tickets on sale
The Rhinelander Kiwanis Club’s Winter Escapes Extravaganza has raised over $360,000 for children’s organizations and family-oriented projects in the Rhinelander community over the past 30 years, and tickets are on sale for the 2018 fundraiser on March 3 at the Hodag Banquet Center. Only 500 tickets will be sold for the event and are available from any Kiwanian, at People’s State Bank on Lincoln Street, or by calling 715-367-3715.

Free family nights starting soon in Rhinelander
The Strengthening Families Program, presented by the Oneida County Health Department, begins March 8, and will run 5-7:30 p.m. Thursdays for seven weeks. The free program is for caregivers and youth ages 10-14. It begins with a family meal followed by parent and youth breakout groups and family activities. Childcare for children age 9 and under will be provided. To register in advance or get more information, contact Jenny Chiamulera at 715-369-6186 or by email, jchiamulera@co.oneida.wi.us.
