STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Northern Edge girls hockey team gave up three goals in a row on two separate occasions Saturday and lost in non-conference action to the Lakeshore Lightning, 6-3, in Antigo.

After allowing the first three Lakeshore goals, the Edge cut the deficit to 3-2. However, the Lightning then scored three more times in the third period to pull away.

Madi Losch scored twice for the Edge. Ashley Adams tallied the other goal for the Rhinelander/Antigo co-op, which was outshot 33-21 for the game.

Nevaeh Forster, who stopped 27 shots in the loss for the Edge, appeared in goal in place of Alicia Turunen, who missed Saturday’s game because of a prior commitment.

The Edge’s season record stands at 7-11-1 overall and 3-2-0-1 in the Great Northern Conference going into Tuesday’s non-conference game against Appleton United at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.
