BOYS SWIMMING: Hodags drop dual at Shawano, 92-76

The Rhinelander High School boys swimming team placed first in six of the 11 events Thursday when RHS lost its Great Northern Conference dual meet at Shawano, 92-76.

The Hodags won two of the three relays with Joseph Heck, Thaddeus Heck, David King and Devon Gaber placing first in the 200-yard medley relay (1 minute, 52.91 seconds); and Joseph Heck, Martin Hoger, Russell Benoy and King winning the 400 freestyle relay (3:38.45).

RHS’s individual winners included: King, 200 individual medley (2:20.13); Joseph Heck, 500 freestyle (5:43.38); Hoger, 100 backstroke (1:04.89); and Thaddeus Heck, 100 breaststroke (1:09.86).

The Hodags’ five runner-up finishes included: Gaber, Thaddeus Heck, Hoger and Benoy, 200 freestyle relay (1:38.04); Benoy, 50 freestyle (23.52) and 100 freestyle (52.35); Thaddeus Heck, 200 freestyle (2:07.91); and King, 100 butterfly (58.96).

RHS’s conference dual meet record stands at 3-4-1 going into Tuesday’s GNC dual at Antigo.
