Lifeboat Foundation accepting applications to be a ‘Host Home’

Editor,
Do you have a spare bedroom and want to make a difference in someone’s life?

Since the inception of The Lifeboat Foundation, we have been searching for a way to help homeless and at-risk youth. We struggled with the money required to buy and remodel a facility. In our search we came upon “Host Homes.”

Host Homes programs can be found throughout the country, mainly in large urban areas. We are looking to bring the program to the Rhinelander area.

If you think there are not homeless or at-risk youth in the Rhinelander area, you are mistaken. If you know of someone aged 16-23, ask them if they know of any “couch surfers.” Talk to local professionals who work with youth. The numbers are hard to quantify, but we know they are there, and they need our help.

Lifeboat Foundation is now ready to recruit Host Homes for 16-23 year-old homeless or at-risk youth. We seek to provide a safe, stable home for these young people to get a solid start for their adult life. We want to provide that home, so they can finish school, high school or college, and/or get the life skills they need to successfully live on their own.

This is where you can come in. If you have a spare bedroom and can provide that safe, stable home needed by these young people; please contact us by calling 715-502-2370, or emailing [email protected]
