GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags fall to Bluejays, 67-60

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

After trailing by two points at halftime Tuesday night, the Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team lost its non-conference game at home to Merrill, 67-60.

The Hodags had three players score in double figures with Kenedy Van Zile tallying a game-high 21 points and Ally Seefeldt and Brooke Mork adding 13 points apiece.

Four Bluejays scored in double figures led by Patience Pyan with 20 points. Lindsey Casper added 15 points, Maddix Bonnell scored 14 points and Kate Peterson put in 10 more.

RHS’s season record stands at 8-6 overall and 5-1 in the Great Northern Conference going into Friday night’s home conference game against Mosinee.

Hodags                 24           36 – 60

Bluejays: Bonnell 14, Kate Peterson 10, Lindsey Casper 15, Patience Pyan 20, Reese Mrachek 6, Erin Murray 2. 3-pointers: Pyan 2, Casper. Free throws: 20-26. Fouls: 16.

Hodags: Kenedy Van Zile 21, Ally Seefeldt 13, Brooke Mork 13, Molly Wagler 3, Rebecca Lawrence 2, Maddie Meyer 6, Ericka Jorgensen 2. 3-pointers: Van Zile 2, Seefeldt, Mork. Free throws: 13-20. Fouls: 21. Fouled out: Seefeldt.
