BOYS BASKETBALL: Hodags down Medford, 50-37

RHS 5-0 in GNC

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

After holding a 3-point lead at halftime Tuesday night, the Rhinelander High School varsity boys basketball team went on to win its Great Northern Conference game at Medford, 50-37.

The Hodags had three players score in double figures led by Reese Flores with 14 points, which included four 3-pointers. Owen White recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Brad Comer added 12 points.

RHS shot 18-43 (41.9 percent) from the field overall, 6-17 (35.3 percent) from 3-point range and 8-12 (66.7 percent) from the free-throw line.

The win improved the Hodags’ season record to 5-0 in the GNC and 11-1 overall going into Friday’s conference game at Mosinee, which is a game behind league-leading RHS at 4-1 in the GNC.

Medford               20           17 – 37

Hodags: Brad Comer 12, Bryce Schickert 6, Brad Quade 2, Reese Flores 14, Owen White 13, Brock Lieder 3. 3-pointers: Flores 4, Comer 2. Free throws: 8-12. Fouls: 15.
