STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Amy Bock of Lake Tomahawk is not only a new mother; she is the mother of the first baby delivered in 2018 at Howard Young Medical Center.

Jacob Gatz, Jr. was born at 5:25 a.m. Jan. 7, weighing in at 6-pounds, 7.7 ounces and 17- inches long. He is Bock’s first child. It was the second consecutive year that the first baby delivery at Howard Young occurred on January 7.

To mark the occasion, Bock and baby Jacob were given a gift basket by the Howard Young Volunteers. Items were provided from the Howard Young Gift Shop. The shop is operated by the volunteers and all funds raised are returned to the facility in the form of equipment and the local community in the form of scholarships, car beds for premature infants, birthing center swaddles and fun things such as the first baby of the year basket of gifts.

The Birthing Center at Howard Young Medical Center, part of Ascension, provides family-centered obstetric care. For more information, please call 715.356.8500 or visit ascension.org/wisconsin.
