GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags hammer Hatchets, 67-22

RHS now 3-1 in GNC

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team jumped out to a 39-point halftime lead and ended up winning Tuesday’s Great Northern Conference home game over Tomahawk, 67-22.

The Hodags had three players score in double figures. Kenedy Van Zile tallied a game-high 17 points, followed Brooke Mork with 12 points and Ally Seefeldt scoring 10 more.

Briana Oenning accounted for half of the Hatchets’ scoring with a team-high 11 points.

RHS improved its season record to 3-1 in the GNC and 6-5 overall going into next Tuesday’s conference game at Medford.

Hodags 69, Hatchets 22

Hatchets              7              15 – 22

Hodags                 46            21 – 67

Hatchets: Courtney Theiler 1, Jordyn Kaminksi 6, Jennifer DuPlayee 4, Briana Oenning 11. Free throws: 2-7. Fouls: 10.

Hodags: Kenedy Van Zile 17, Ally Seefeldt 10, Alayna Franson 2, Brooke Mork 12, Lexie Rick 4, Maddie Meyer 8, Ericka Jorgensen 5, Rebecca Lawrence 9. 3-pointers: Van Zile 2, Meyer 2. Free throws: 5-9. Fouls: 8.
