GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags fall to La Follette, Rapids

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team dropped a pair of non-conference games at an invitational last week in Wisconsin Rapids.

The Hodags trailed by 10 points at halftime before losing Thursday to Madison La Follette, 59-36.

Two RHS players scored in double figures led by Kenedy Van Zile with 18 points. Ally Seefeldt added 11 points.

The Hodags shot 11-47 (23.4 percent) from the field overall, compared to 20-51 (39.2 percent) for La Follette.

RHS led by a point at halftime before losing Friday’s game to Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, 59-46

Seefeldt led the Hodags with 20 points with Van Zile scoring 14 more.

Rapids outshot RHS from the field overall, 23-53 (43.4 percent) to 16-44 (36.4 percent).

The Hodags’ season record stood at 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the Great Northern Conference going into Tuesday night’s home conference game against Tomahawk.
