Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 3, the Rhinelander Star Journal and the Hodag Buyers’ Guide will be merged into a single newspaper called the Hodag Buyers’ Guide/Star Journal.

The new combined paper will be printed on a taller sheet and contain all the local news you’ve come to expect from the Star Journal since 1977, plus the timely advertising information that has been a hallmark of the Hodag Buyers Guide since its founding in 1955.

The new Hodag Buyers’ Guide/Star Journal will be delivered Wednesdays and bring the best of both papers to your doorstep.

You’ll find all your favorite content from the Star Journal, including local news, interesting features, local sports and outdoors, obituaries, letters to the editor, community events and the court report.

In addition, the new paper will feature more timely midweek display advertising and inserts from local, regional and national businesses to help you plan your shopping and entertainment for the upcoming week.

We’ll also be adding more circulation to homes and businesses throughout Oneida County, ensuring that the new Hodag Buyers’ Guide/Star Journal will remain Oneida County’s most-read newspaper.
