GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags down Eagles, 69-47

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team led by 14 points at halftime and ended up winning Friday’s Great Northern Conference game at Northland Pines, 69-47.

The Hodags had three players score in double figures led by Ally Seefeldt with a game-high 27 points. Kenedy Van Zile added 18 points with Brooke Mork scoring 10 more.

The Eagles were led by Teresa Kopanski with 16 points, while Kirsten Lindemann also scored in double figures with 10 points.

RHS outshot Northland Pines from the field overall, 25-62 (40.3 percent) to 22-57 (38.6 percent).

The win improved the Hodags’ season record to 2-1 in the GNC and 5-2 overall going into Thursday’s non-conference home game against Wausau West.

Hodags: Ally Seefeldt 27, Kenedy Van Zile 18, Brooke Mork 10, Molly Wagler 6, Maddie Meyer 3, Lexie Rick 2, Ericka Jorgensen 2, Rebecca Lawrence 1. 3-pointers: Seefeldt 2, Mork, Meyer. Free throws: 4-13. Fouls: 11.
