HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS: Hodags win GNC dual opener over Mosinee

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team hosted its first Great Northern Conference Small Division dual meet of the season Tuesday when the Hodags topped Mosinee, 118.325-102.725.

RHS senior Stephanie Kuester won three of the four individual events, placing first in the floor exercise (8.3), uneven bars (7.675) and vaulting (8.6). She also finished runner-up on the balance beam (7.75) and ended up first in the all-around competition (32.325).

Other top-three finishes for the Hodags included junior Raven Sturtevant placing third in three events – vaulting (8.2), balance beam (7.325) and uneven bars (7.125) – as well as finishing third in the all-around competition (30.3). Senior Makayla Kuester placed second in vaulting (8.25) and freshman Bridget Koser finished runner-up in the floor exercise (7.75).

RHS’s junior varsity team also won against Mosinee, 84.4-41.6.

Up next for the Hodags is a dual meet next Tuesday at Lakeland Union High School.
