BOYS SWIMMING: RHS in 3-way tie for 1st at Hodag Relays

Out of the six boys swimming teams competing Saturday at the Hodag Relays, three ended up tying for first place.
Rhinelander, Lakeland Union High School and Marshfield all had the top score of 84. Tomahawk was only two points out of first at 82. Shawano ended up fifth with 60.
Of the 10 relay events, the Hodags finished first in four of them with David King, Joseph Heck, Martin Hoger and Russell Benoy in the 400-yard medley relay (4 minutes, 15.33 seconds); Benoy, Joseph Heck, Devon Gaber and Isaiah Piosalan in the 500 decrescendo relay (5:06.07); Thaddeus Heck, Benoy and Hoger in the 3×50 mixer relay (1:22.52); and Thaddeus Heck, Joseph Heck and Benoy in the 3×100 breaststroke relay (3:31.99).
RHS also recorded a runner-up finish with Joseph Heck, Hoger and King in the 3×100 backstroke relay (3:10.48).
The Hodags return to action Tuesday when they host a Great Northern Conference dual meet against Shawano.
