STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School boys basketball team jumped out to a 23-point halftime lead Tuesday en route to winning at Ashland, 71-40.

The Hodags had three players score in double figures led by Brad Comer with 16 points, followed by Bryce Schickert with 15 points and Brad Quade scoring 13 more.

RHS shot 27-56 (48.2 percent) from the field overall, 9-24 (37.5 percent) from 3-point range and 8-16 (50 percent) from the free-throw-line.

The win improved the Hodags’ season record to 3-1 overall going into Friday’s Great Northern Conference opener at home against Lakeland Union High School.
