Obituary: Frances Anderson

Frances Marie “Fran” Anderson, age 87, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 30, 2017. She was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Stevens Point to the late Leo and Ann Hebert. Fran grew up in the Pier/Willow region where she met her late husband, Theodore “Ted” Anderson. They were married on June 2, 1951.
Fran and Ted moved to the Rhinelander/Woodboro area in 1955, where they raised their four children. Fran worked at Birchfield Nurseries where she developed a love of gardening and for many years, Fran held the position of Woodboro town treasurer, followed by the position of town clerk.
Fran was a talented seamstress and loved making Barbie Doll clothes for her daughter’s collection. Over time, Fran added crochet to her list of hobbies and was always working on a project. She was especially proud of her doll collections which adorn the rooms of all her granddaughters.
Fran always enjoyed spending time with others. Friends and family were always welcomed in her home and often enjoyed large neighborhood BBQs.
In 2014, Fran moved into Rhinelander where she stayed involved in activities with the Senior Center, including summer pontoon rides, fishing on Boom Lake, ATV rides through the beautiful Northwoods with the ATV club and holiday outings.
Fran is survived by her children, Theodore Jr. (Julie) of Eagle River, Terry of Rhinelander, Glenda (Jon) Pokrandt of Anchorage, Alaska, and Raymond (Diane) of Portersville; two sisters, Louise Macki-Weidman and Delores Vedder, both of Pier/Willow; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore; parents, Leo and Ann Hebert; and four brothers, Donald Zimbauer, Richard, Leo, Fred, and James Hebert.
