Odd-even parking begins Dec. 1 in Rhinelander

STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Winter parking regulations go into effect this week. The regulations allow the Rhinelander Public Works Department to clear and maintain city streets during periods of snowfall. Beginning Dec. 1, there is no parking allowed 3 a.m. – 6 a.m. on Rhinelander city streets, city-maintained alleyways and unmetered parking lots.

From 6 a.m. on even-numbered dates, until 3 a.m. of the following day, parking is allowed only on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses. Likewise, from 6 a.m. on odd-numbered dates, until 3 a.m. of the following day, parking is all only on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses.

Failure to comply could result in a citation and the police department may remove any illegally-parked vehicles at the owners’ expense.

The streets immediately surrounding the Oneida County Courthouse, Baird Ave., Court Park, Oneida Ave., and Dahl St., are exempt from the odd-even rules, as well as Keenan St., from the Kemp St. intersection, north 100 feet.
