Second sex offender within a week released on parole

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

Albert J. Chagnon

A Rhinelander man convicted in 2003 of possession of child pornography will be released from prison and returned to Oneida County Sept. 26.

Albert J. Chagnon, 35, will be supervised by the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole office in Rhinelander and will be required to register with the Wisconsin sex offender registry until 2025.

The Rhinelander Police Department requests that members of the community, especially those with young children, maintain a heightened awareness if Chagnon is seen in the community. If he is seen engaging a child without a parent or guardian present, law enforcement should be notified immediately.

Jason L. Mullen, 29, was released from prison  to Oneida County Sept. 19 following a conviction of 3rd degree sexual assault.

The sex offender registry can be viewed at www.widocoffenders.org.
