GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Hodags 3rd at Shawano Invite

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity girls volleyball team placed third out of eight teams Saturday after winning three out of its five matches at the Shawano Invitational.

The Hodags defeated Peshtigo, 25-14, 25-13, Oconto, 25-17, 25-15, and Oconto Falls, 25-16, 22-25, 15-13, but lost to Shawano, 19-25, 24-26, and Wausau West, 23-25, 23-25.

RHS’s statistical leaders over the five matches included: Hope Wissbroecker, 57 kills, 10 service aces, 55 digs and 19 solo blocks; Stephanie Kuester, seven services aces and 86 digs; Makayla Kuester, 51 set assists, five service aces and 19 digs; and Ally Seefeldt, 24 set assists and 32 digs.

The Hodags, whose season record stands at 10-11 overall and 1-1 in the Great Northern Conference, return to action Tuesday with a conference match at Mosinee.
