BOYS SOCCER: Hodags hammer Antigo in GNC opener, 8-0

The Rhinelander High School varsity boys soccer team opened its Great Northern Conference schedule Tuesday evening with an 8-0 victory over Antigo at Mike Webster Stadium.
The Hodags, who scored four goals in each half, were led on offense by Matthew Von Oepen with three goals and two assists. Jonus Sabani added two goals and two assists, Hunter Hicks also scored two goals, Joseph Schmitz tallied a goal and Freddy Wisner recorded an assist.
RHS had a 20-1 advantage in shots on goal with Josh Randolph picking up the shutout victory in net.
The Hodags, whose season record stands at 1-0 in the GNC and 3-1-1 overall, host another conference game Thursday night against Lakeland Union High School.
