STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Peoples State Bank in Rhinelander held a community brat sale at its Lincoln Street location in August, and hosted some special guests. Members of the Rhinelander Fire and Rhinelander Police Departments, and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office spent time mingling with community members who stopped by to support them.

Peoples Vice President Craig Lau said the bank wanted to show support for the organizations and decided to hold the fundraiser in their honor.

“We wanted to give the community the opportunity to be close up and spend time with those who protect us and help us sleep well at night,” said Lau. The departments will split the $1,946 donation. Sheriff Grady Hartman said his department will put the money toward the Oneida County Dive Team. The DARE program and K-9 program will benefit from the police department’s share, according to Chief Lloyd Gauthier. Fire Chief Terry Williams said his department has not yet decided on where to spend its portion.
