STAR JOURNAL REPORT

Students in the Rhinelander School District head back to school Friday, and one local non-profit is working TODAY to make sure all of them have what they need for a successful year.

Northwoods United Way will be collecting donated supplies today in a Bowen’s Bus Service bus parked at Walmart in Rhinelander Aug. 29, from 2-6 p.m. Collected items will be disbursed throughout the district later this week.

“Individuals are encouraged to ‘Buy Two-Give One’ when shopping for their back to school supplies this year,” said Nancy Sattler, executive director for Northwoods United Way. “Businesses that conduct their own school supply drives in the weeks leading up to the event are encouraged to bring the items collected to the bus, also. This will allow us to get the product sorted for the school district to easily distribute.”

Paper, pens, pencils, crayons and all manner of supplies are being sought. Look for the School bus in the Walmart parking lot
