The 17th Annual Ride to Remember Motorcycle Rally to benefit The Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville is registering riders now for the Aug. 19 event. This year’s rally will honor “Those Who Serve in the U.S. Coast Guard – Past, Present and Future.” Each annual rally will be dedicated to different branches of the armed services. The opening ceremony is 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Highground.

The rally takes place 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Neillsville American Legion in Neillsville.  The day includes guided rides and ongoing games, raffles, drawings and silent auctions.

The Ride to Remember ceremony at the Highground on Saturday will feature speakers Anita Jevne and her brother, Matt Maske. Their father, Ervin Maske, was one of four Coast Guardsmen that made what is considered the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard history in the winter of 1952, memorialized in the motion picture “The Finest Hours.” A special Coast Guard display which includes photos of these men is at The Highground Learning Center.

The Ride to Remember is one of the largest annual fundraisers for the Highground Veterans Memorial.

To register for the ride or for more information, call The Highground at 715-743-4224, email [email protected] or visit online at www.thehighground.us or https://www.facebook.com/TheHighgroundVeteransMemorial/.  The Highground is located at W7031 Ridge Rd, Neillsville WI.
