Viewpoint: Readers support Freudenberg
Editor,
I am responding to the article in the July 23 Star Journal regarding supervisor Mr. Bill Freudenberg.
It is really sad that the board is not willing to work things out with Mr. Freudenberg, It appears the board is condemning one of the board members when there are no rules or regulations in place. People in the area are very pleased with Mr. Freudenberg’s performance.
How about considering working as a board instead of playing one against the other.

Reader says Freudenberg is dedicated to county
Editor,
I am responding to the letter about the county board meeting attendance article in the July 23 Star Journal. I think it was a bad decision that chairman Dave Hintz made. Why should this be brought out in public before it is discussed with Mr. Freudenberg and the rest of the board members, when there are no specific rules in place. Mr. Freudenberg has asked if the meetings could be held in the late afternoon or evenings and there was nothing done. Many people in Freudenberg’s wards are quite satisfied with what he has done and accomplished as a supervisor and council member.
Also, people in Mr. Freudenberg’s wards disagree with the way this was handled. Mr. Freudenberg told Dave Hintz he had been up for several hours and needed to get some sleep before returning to work again that night. To me it sounds like Mr. Freudenberg is a dedicated board member. Who else on the county board would work all night and be there for the county. Would you three supervisors do that?
It’s sad that people who still need to work are penalized for not being there when something else could be done, like evening meetings. Think about it.
In closing, it mentioned another board member who left early but his name was never mentioned. It is sad that county board elected officials have to be this way. You should all work together to better our county.
Mary Freudenberg, Rhinelander.
