Rhinelander student wins DARE essay contest

Zion School student Jaylee Weyhrauch, center, won the regional Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) essay contest for the 2016-17 school year.
Weyhrauch, who will be in sixth grade, said the DARE program was fun. For her essay, she wrote about the dangers of second-hand smoke, and bingeing on alcohol.
Weyhrauch was presented with a bag of prizes by her DARE officer, Amanda Young, of the Rhinelander Police Department, left. Also pictured is Chief Lloyd Gauthier.
