BOYS BASKETBALL: Hodags edge Thunderbirds, finish second in GNC
RHS to host D2 tourney opener March 3

The Rhinelander High School varsity boys basketball team overcame a 9-point halftime deficit Thursday night when the Hodags won their regular-season finale on the road against Great Northern Conference rival Lakeland Union High School, 43-42.
RHS trailed by a point in the final seconds before Owen White sank the game-winning basket.
White led the Hodags with 27 points and also hauled in 10 rebounds to record a double-double.
RHS shot 17-47 (36.2 percent) from the field overall and 3-22 (13.6 percent) from 3-point range.
The Hodags, who ended up second in the GNC with an 8-4 league record and finished the regular season 13-8 overall, open the WIAA Division 2 Tournament as the No. 4 seed in their regional March 3 when they host No. 5-seeded Merrill.
