GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags win GNC finale over Tomahawk

The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team closed out its Great Northern Conference schedule Monday with a 55-26 home victory over Tomahawk.

Of the nine Hodag players who scored, only Kaly Kostrova recorded double figures with 19 points. Hannah Schade led the Hatchets with nine points.

RHS, which improved its record to 6-6 in the GNC and 8-12 overall, closes out the regular season this week with non-conference road games Tuesday at Marshfield and Thursday at Crandon. The Hodags have received the No. 8 seed in their regional and open WIAA Division 2 tournament play Feb. 21 by hosting No. 9-seeded Antigo.
