Five arrested on drug charges in Crandon

Forest County law enforcement arrested five people Feb. 1 on alleged drug charges. According to a press release, the county’s Drug Task Force and Crandon Police arrested Christopher Leach, 22; Caleb Leach, 18; Larry Swanson, 25; Skyler Hennes, 21, and Charli Brownell, 25 at the Leach residence while executing a search warrant. A 17-year old female was also located in the residence and has been referred to the District Attorney’s office.
Christopher W. Leach appeared in Forest County Circuit Court Feb. 10 and is charged with four counts of manufacture/deliver THC (<=200g), possession with intent-THC (>200-1,000g), possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, intent to contribute to the delinquency of a child and maintaining a drug trafficking place. Cash bond was set at $1,500. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 1.
The only other of the five arrested who has made a court appearance, Brownell , faces charges of possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is free on a $200 cash bond.
The Forest County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be forth coming.
