GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hodags fall to Medford, 41-36

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

After leading by five points at halftime Friday, the Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team could only muster 11 second-half points and lost in Great Northern Conference play at home to Medford, 41-36.

The Hodags had two players score in double figures led by Kaly Kostrova with 12 points and Ally Seefeldt adding 11 points. Medford’s top scorers included four players with eight points apiece.

The Hodags, who had won last month’s matchup at Medford, dropped to 3-5 in the GNC and 5-8 overall going into Thursday’s conference game at Lakeland Union High School.

Hodags                25           11 – 36

Hodags: Ally Seefeldt 11, Brooke Mork 4, Kaly Kostrova 12, Molly Wagler 4, Maddie Meyer 3, Ali Schickert 2. 3-pointers: Kostrova, Meyer. Free throws: 8-11 Fouls: 18. Fouled out: Schickert.
