BOYS BASKETBALL: Hodags fall at home to SPASH, 54-46

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity boys basketball team recorded its first loss of the season Friday when the Hodags fell at home to Stevens Point Area Senior High, the two-time defending WIAA Division 1 state champion, 54-46.

RHS, which trailed 26-22 at halftime, had only one player end up scoring in double figures. Reeve Craig led the Hodags with 14 points, which included a pair of 3-point baskets. Junior Howard added eight points with Easton Senoraske putting in seven more to round out the team’s top-three scorers.

From the field overall, RHS shot 18-49 (36.7 percent). Behind the arc, the Hodags went 5-22 (22.7 percent). Of the eight shots from the charity stripe, RHS made five of them for 62.5 percent.

The loss evened the Hodags’ season record to 1-1 going into this coming Friday’s game at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.
