The town of Pelican Community Club held its annual picnic in August. One of the traditional contests is the crawdad race. This year’s winners were, first place, Briggham Belunes; second place, Gage Bierman and third place winner was Gemma Moore.

In addition to games and food, the Club also donated fundraising proceeds to local non-profits. The Oneida County Humane Society was the recipient of $500 and Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, or NATH also received a $500 donation.

The club’s next event will be the beef stew hunter’s dinner Nov. 19. All are welcome.
