Oneida County flu clinics scheduled

Getting a flu shot is said to be the single most important thing you can do to protect yourself agains the flu. The Oneida County Health Department is hosting a mass flu clinic to make sure everyone has the opportunity to take that important step.

Flu shots will be offered free to youth, ages six months through 18 years, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Rhinelander High School commons, and Nov. 8 at Three Lakes High School, 4-7 p.m. Parent/guardian(s) must be present with their child at the time of vaccination.

Flu Vaccine is available for adults 19 years and up. The cost is $35 for Fluzone Quadrivalent, injectable vaccine which protects against four virus strains, and $65 for Fluzone high-dose influenza vaccine which is available for people 65 years and older. It is intended to create a stronger immune response in the person receiving the vaccine.

The Oneida County Health Department accepts cash, check, or some credit cards and will bill Medicaid, BadgerCare, Medicare, and some Medicare Replacements. Please have card available.
