GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Hodags 1-2 in GNC No. 2 tourney

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The second round of the Great Northern Conference tournament took place Saturday at Medford with the Rhinelander girls volleyball team winning a match over Antigo in five games, 18-25, 26-24, 13-25, 27-25, 15-9, and losing a pair of matches, in which the Hodags were swept by Northland Pines, 15-25, 21-25, 18-25, and fell in four games to Mosinee, 18-25, 20-25, 25-19, 17-25.

RHS’s statistical leaders over the three matches included: Hope Wissbroecker, 72 kills and 51 digs; Ally Seefeldt, 75 set assists; Stephanie Kuester, 42 digs; and Makayla Kuester, 10 service aces.

The Hodags, whose season record stands at 3-8 in the GNC and 14-18 overall, have their next match Tuesday at Medford.
