GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Hodags hold off Thunderbirds in five

Rhinelander High School’s varsity volleyball team went the distance Thursday when the Hodags won their Great Northern Conference match in five games at home against Lakeland Union High School, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 15-12.
RHS’s statistical leaders included: Hope Wissbroecker, 27 kills and 24 digs; Ally Seefeldt, 35 set assists; Kaly Kostrova, 18 digs; and Stephanie Kuester, 13 digs.
The Hodags, who improved their season match record to 2-5 in the GNC and 13-15 overall, return to action Tuesday at Tomahawk.
