Rhinelander Area Food Pantry  requests additional community support

An important message from the good people at the food pantry:

The community has rallied in support of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry during its eleven years of operation. Support for the purchase and remodeling of the current facility at 627 Coon Street, to better serve clients, is but one example.
Ongoing purchase of food for distribution may not be as glamorous, or as obvious a need, but that is the lifeblood of the Pantry’s mission. And unfortunately, despite fund raising and generous donations, RAFP is currently spending more money to purchase food than they are taking in.
So, with this in mind, RAFP is asking everyone to please consider a donation, or additional contribution, to help insure the Food Pantry will be able to continue to provide food for area families in need. Last year RAFP set yet another record in distributing 596,714 pounds of food during 7,304 household visits.
Monetary donations can be made to Rhinelander Area Food Pantry c/o BMO Harris Bank, 7 N. Brown St., Rhinelander, WI 54501.  Food items may be dropped off at the Food Pantry at 627 Coon Street from 9am to noon.  Donations will qualify as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
