GIRLS TENNIS: Hodags win GNC meet at LUHS

The Rhinelander High School girls tennis team improved to 9-0 in Great Northern Conference play after picking up a 5-2 victory Thursday at Lakeland Union High School.
The Hodags split the four singles matches with RHS’s Kristina Jacobson and Belinda Weddle winning their respective No. 2 and No. 3 matches. LUHS’s No. 1 singles player, Elodie Martin, won in straight sets over Ivy Packard, while the Thunderbirds’ Morgan Ahrens won her No. 4 singles match in three sets over Alex Oestreich.
The three doubles matches were all won by the Hodags with Ali Schickert and Erica Counter (No. 1), Katie Krueger and Hannah Stroede (No. 2) and Haley Seefeldt and Livi Roberts (No. 3) all victorious in straight sets.
RHS will seek its 10th conference meet victory Tuesday when the Hodags host Antigo.
