GIRLS SWIMMING: Hodags 7th at Chippewa Falls Invite

The Rhinelander High School girls swimming team headed to Chippewa Falls for an invitational Saturday and placed seventh out of nine teams with 187 points.

Chippewa Falls finished first with 417 points, while Wisconsin Rapids placed runner-up at 398.

The Hodags’ best finish came from Grace Heck placing fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (27.32 seconds). The team picked up two other top-five finishes when Heck placed fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:09.49) and joined Maddie Quinn, Jenna Hawley, and Marisa McGuire to place fifth in the 200 medley relay (2:04.14).

RHS’s other top-10 finishes included: Heck, McGuire, Taylor Hollands and Taylor Macak ending up seventh in the 400 freestyle relay (4:17.36); Quinn placing seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:37.51) and ninth in the 100 backstroke (1:10.9); Hollands coming in seventh in the 500 freestyle (6:16.32); and McGuire placing seventh in the 100 freestyle (1:01.77) and 10th in the 50 freestyle (27.95).
