GIRLS SWIMMING: RHS 2nd in Hodags Relays.

The Rhinelander High School girls swimming team hosted a six-team relay meet Saturday and ended up two points short of the top spot.

Marshfield won the meet with 100 points, followed by RHS (98), Merrill (60), Wausau West (58), Black River Falls/Blair-Taylor (54) and Lakeland Union High School (44).

Of the 10 varsity relay events, the Hodags won four of them. RHS’s top relay teams included: Maddie Quinn, Taylor Hollands, Emily McFarland and Hannah Hoffhein in the 800 freestyle relay (9:55.45); Shelby Kuehn, Carly Seidl, Taylor Macak and Marisa McGuire in the 200 freestyle; Macak, Hollands, Seidl and Kuehn in the 500 decrescendo relay (5:38.21); and McGuire, Macak, Hollands and Grace Heck in the 400 freestyle relay (4:08.75).

The Hodags return to action Thursday with a meet at Ladysmith.
