Help for homeless pets

The Oneida County Humane Society is holding a Hike for Homeless Pets fundraiser. The event is Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Almon Park Trail at Buck Lake from 1-4 p.m., rain or shine  Participants are asked to bring their leashed dogs to walk the trail, take park in a poker run for prizes and play games.

A commemorative hike t-shirt will be awarded to those who collect $20 or more in donations/pledges. Prizes will be awarded to the three people who collect the most donations/pledges. All participating pets will receive a free bandana.

The 1.25 mile trail at Almon Park is located approximately 5 miles south of Rhinelander, taking  Hwy. G to Hixon Lake Road. There will be red balloons marking the way.

Download a pledge form at  http://tinyurl.com/ochspethike or pick one up at the Oneida County Humane Society Adoption Center at 1852 N. Stevens Street in Rhinelander.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the animals waiting for new families at the Adoption Center. For more information, call 715-362-5992.
