Tom Peterson

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Oneida County Fair Board has filled its vacancy for president with its vice president.

With eight board members present to vote Tuesday, Tom Peterson was elected on a 5-3 ballot vote over Bill Freudenberg, a county supervisor whose application to also be a fair board member was accepted earlier this month. Freudenberg wasn’t among those eight members because he showed up for Tuesday’s meeting after the vote was taken.

Upon Freudenberg’s arrival, he agreed to have his name placed in nomination for vice president, for which the board members present cast a unanimous ballot to elect him to that position.

This year’s Oneida County Fair is set for Aug. 4-7 at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander.
