Like most graduates, Eric Hedberg of Land O’ Lakes wanted to celebrate this milestone occasion with his friends and family. So on June 12, Eric hosted a party complete with a dunk tank, laser tag, karaoke and food.  But Eric took this party one step further so that he could give back to help kids like him. Since 2004 Eric has spent countless hours at the doctor’s office and at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Marshfield, battling kidney disease.

“The Child Life Specialists made each visit so much more bearable,” said Eric.  “They helped me out so much that I had to give back.”

Eric encouraged his guests to make donations to benefit a local charity, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“I was hoping to raise about $200,” shared Eric as he handed over a check for $1,100.

He is planning on attending the University of Chicago to study Astrophysics. Eric will continue to battle his chronic health issues as well as looking for ways to make a difference.
