The Sunday Paddle Race
Unfortunately, we are cancelling the paddle races originally scheduled for this Sunday, June 26th, due to a small number of registered participants. The Chamber, and our primary sponsor for this event, Rhinelander Toyota, are committed to putting on a quality paddle race in the Rhinelander area in the near future. We will look for partners and an opportunity to put on a quality competition. Please contact the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce with questions.

Our Sponsors
We could not pull off an event as big as the Boom Lake Log Jam without the support of many people and organizations. I would like to thank our Log Jam sponsors, including The Star Journal, WJFW, Expera Specialty Solutions, Great Lake Timber Professionals Association, Park City Credit Union, The Rhinelander Tourism and Marketing Committee, Trig’s, Holiday Acres, A-1 Septic, America’s Best Value Inn, AmericInn, Cellcom, CoVantage Credit Union, Advanced Disposal, Diel Insurance, Gaber Electric, NRG Media, People’s State Bank, WCYE 93.7, and WXPR.

We also want to thank our Log Jam volunteers, who are too numerous to name here, and our steering committee, who include Lauren Sackett, Diane Pilat, Andy Pilat, Eileen Persike, Eric Britton, Stephanie Ruckheim and myself.

Other upcoming events:
4th of July Parade and Fireworks
Monday, July 4, 2016 Downtown Rhinelander
Come and enjoy this annual tradition as the community of Rhinelander celebrates the 4th of July. The parade is rerouted around the construction but is still going on! See the floats, hear the music, and connect with friends! The Rhinelander Fourth of July Parade is always a good time!
The theme of 2016’s parade is “America: The Proud and The Beautiful” in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. Businesses, organizations, and others are invited to enter floats and vehicles into the parade for just a $5 donation to the Leathernecks of the North.
Fireworks will take place at dusk over Boom Lake and Hodag Park.

Redikulus Dae
August 10, 2016 Downtown Rhinelander
Redikulus Dae WILL return this year and will be somewhere downtown. DRI and the downtown merchants who are organizing the event are waiting to determine a downtown location until closer to August 10th in order to work around the construction. Rest assured the day will be filled with the same fun and craziness as years past!

Please contact the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce if you are looking for information about area businesses, restaurants, attractions, lodging or events. Also contact us if you want more information or have any questions about anything in this column. The Chamber is open from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and from 9 to 1 on Saturdays and holidays during the summer. You can reach me at 715-365-7464 or at [email protected]
