STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced Wednesday that University of Minnesota Duluth senior third baseman Kyle Comer of Rhinelander has been named to the NCAA Division II Central Region’s First Team.

Comer earned his first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team selection in 2016 and also landed the All-Region honor for the first time of his career. He finished the regular season ranked tenth in batting average and in the top-15 in runs scored and total bases in all of the NCAA Division II.

This season, the Bulldogs also advanced to the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament.
