STAR JOURNAL REPORT

Nathaniel Sampson, a 2015 Rhinelander High School graduate and four-year letter winner in track and field for the Hodags, wrapped up his freshman season at Lakeland College competing at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Conference Championships held May 6-7 at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.

In the preliminary races, Sampson placed 17th in the 400-meter dash (53.49 seconds) and 23rd in the 200 dash (24.01). His time in the 400 was a personal record. Sampson has a personal-best time in the 200 of 23.72.

He was also part of the Muskies’ 4X400 relay team that finished seventh at the conference meet in 3:32.01 and a member of the 4X100 relay.

Sampson, also a member of the Lakeland College football team, is the son of Jay and Deb Sampson of Rhinelander.
