Downtown Rhinelander is open with plenty of parking
By Star Journal staff
Weekly update on the Downtown Rhinelander construction project, along with a map indicating public parking lots. Also note that parking IS available on Brown Street, north and south of Davenport Street, with turn around areas closest to Davenport.
Good news
The project is still on pace or ahead of schedule, according to Rhinelander City Administrator, Kristina Aschenbrenner. Construction crews may begin work on N. Brown St. as soon as April 25.
Other details for the week of April 18:
More blasting
The same blocks will be closed down for construction the week of April 18, with some more controlled blasting occurring Tuesday on S. Anderson in response to bedrock that was discovered.
Davenport St. Bridge walkway open
The engineers worked with the construction company and have opened up a walkway across the Davenport St. Bridge, so residents on the west side of the bridge can walk across to access downtown businesses.
Do not move barricades
A reminder that moving barricades and driving on blocked off roads may result in a fine. It is important NOT to move barricades. They are there for a reason; this is a huge safety concern.
